Christmas Light Installation in Wayne NJ and Bergen County

Nobody dislikes Christmas lights. People dislike the ladder, the tangle of last winter strings, and the January afternoon spent pulling frozen clips off a gutter in the cold.

That is the whole job we take off you. Christmas light installation done in one visit, taken down in another, and the lights stored somewhere that is not your garage.

We light homes across Bergen, Passaic, Morris and Essex Counties, with most of the calendar booked before Halloween. Chris is the person you call, the person who schedules it, and the person who answers if something goes out in December.

What the season includes

• Design walk through so you know exactly what will be lit before anything goes up
• Installation in November, roofline, gutters, door frame, columns, trees and shrubs
• Commercial grade lights supplied, or we hang the ones you already own if you prefer
• Timers set so the display runs on its own from dusk
• In season repairs, a bulb or a run goes out and it gets fixed, not left dark until spring
• Takedown in January and off season storage, so nothing lives in your garage

The part most companies leave out

Plenty of outfits will hang lights. Far fewer include the takedown, and almost none include the storage. That is not an accident, because those are the unglamorous halves of the job.

We quote the season, not the visit. Up, maintained while they are up, down in January, stored until next November. It is one number and one decision instead of three separate arguments with yourself.

Using your own lights

If you already own strings you like, we will hang those. It is a common request and it is a fair one, especially if you have built up a look over several years that you do not want changed.

The honest caveat is that consumer strings from a big box store are built for a few seasons of light use, not for a full northeastern winter on a roofline. If a run fails in December because the wire was never rated for it, that is a replacement conversation, not a warranty one. We will tell you which of your strings look like they will make it before we hang anything.

What it costs and what drives the number

Price follows linear feet, roof height and access, not square footage of the house. A long low ranch can cost less to light than a compact two story colonial with steep pitch and a hard ladder position.

Wrapped trees are priced per tree and depend on height and trunk count, because a mature maple takes considerably more line than a young one. We walk the property, count the feet, and give you a number for the whole season before anything is ordered.

Booking, and why October matters

Install slots run from early November to the first week of December, and they fill in the order people call. The good early slots, the ones where your house is lit before Thanksgiving, are usually gone by mid October.

If you are already a weekly pool client or we closed your pool this fall, say so when you call. Those properties are already on the route and already measured, which usually means an easier slot.

What a clean christmas light installation actually looks like

A good christmas light installation is judged from the street at night and from the ladder in daylight. From the street the lines should be straight, the spacing even, and the colour temperature consistent, because one cool white run in a warm white display is the thing your eye lands on first. From the ladder, clips should be rated for the surface they are on, and no wire should be stapled into fascia or run across a shingle. Damage from a bad install shows up as a leak in March, long after anybody connects the two.

Outdoor holiday lighting is an electrical job before it is a decorative one. Safety guidance on outdoor cords, load and weather rated connections comes from the Electrical Safety Foundation International, and it is the reason we do not run consumer indoor strings across a wet roofline.
